There’s one phrase that never fails to make us sad, no matter how old we get – “it’s back to school season.”

Whether you graduated a few years back or decades ago, there’s likely still a shudder that racks through your body at the very notion of school starting after summer break. Of course, as adults, many of us don’t have the luxury of a full summer break. That doesn’t stop the twinge of panic before realizing school is a thing of the past.

What if we tried to change our thinking to embrace the back-to-school spirit? What is back to school besides a celebration of learning and growing? No matter what your age or experience level, there’s always room for growth. If business professionals took on the mentality of “this is my season to grow in my career,” we might find ourselves getting a lot more accomplished.

Take time this back to school season to re-discover your passion for learning. You may not need to pick up a pencil case and book bag, but you can start the “school year” on the right foot by preparing a plan and finding what drives you.

Remember, it’s never too late to learn new things, and even if changes are scary, they can bring about incredible outcomes. Don’t be afraid to step into a subject without knowing much about it – that’s what learning is about.

Technology is here to stay for Government agencies, so grab the bull by the horns and master your software!
